Antonio of Mulege

Posted in Desert, People, Places, The Sea on April 14, 2009 by Cire Gadje Ell

Drove into Mulege today hoping to find Antionio who helped us out with our tourist cards back in February.  We ran into him in almost the same place.  He’s getting along fine and still helping out others were he can.

The drive from Loreto to San Ignacio is not very long so we took some pictures and enjoyed the scenery.  We had only one military check point today.  They intended to search the vehicle but after asking Tracy if the dogs would bite, by gesturing a bite on the forearm, and her shrugging her shoulders (as she wasn’t truly sure) they just waved us through.

We will be driving through the heart of the Baja desert tomorrow up to Catavina for the night. It’s about a six hour drive but an interesting one.

We drove to Las Palmas today to take a hike along the beach and also hike along the coast to see what we could see.  You always want to watch your ass when you have one of these rigs behind you.

We wished that we had a cart to sit in at this point so that the dogs could pull us.

We think this is the old fisherman’s harbor between Punta Lobo and Playa San Pedro.
